  • We may request supporting evidence for any claims you make in your tax filings to comply with Australian tax laws and professional obligations.
  • We will never engage in illegal or unethical practices and operate in accordance with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) Code of Professional Conduct.
  • We will advise you of your obligations under Australian taxation laws and ensure you are informed about your rights and responsibilities.

As a client of Bove (previously Bove & Associates), it is important that you:

  • Understand your obligations to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and remain compliant with Australian tax laws.
  • Recognize that Bove, as your tax practitioner, has professional obligations to you, the ATO, and the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).


Your Obligations as a Client

As a client of Bove (previously Bove & Associates), you are responsible for:

  • Providing truthful and accurate information to our team to ensure compliance with taxation laws.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supplying them promptly when requested.
  • Cooperating with requests from your tax professional and meeting all deadlines.
  • Complying with Australian tax laws to avoid penalties and other legal consequences.


If You Do Not Meet Your Obligations:

Failure to meet your tax obligations may result in the following consequences:

  • The ATO may impose administrative penalties (fines) for non-compliance.
  • Interest charges may be applied to unpaid or incorrect tax liabilities.
  • Legal action or criminal prosecution may be pursued by the ATO in cases of serious non-compliance.
  • The ATO may initiate debt recovery proceedings for unpaid taxes.


Your Tax Practitioner’s Obligations

As a registered tax agent, Bove (previously Bove & Associates) is legally required to:

  • Act honestly and with integrity in all professional dealings with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Uphold the ethical standards of the tax profession and comply with all professional guidelines.
  • Act lawfully in your best interests, within the legal framework of taxation laws.
  • Identify and manage conflicts of interest to maintain transparency.
  • Take reasonable care in reviewing your financial affairs and ensure that tax laws are applied correctly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information unless legally required to disclose it.
  • Provide competent tax services and continuously update our professional knowledge.
  • Not knowingly obstruct tax administration or mislead the ATO or TPB.
  • Advise you of your rights and obligations under the tax system.
  • Account for any money or property held in trust on your behalf.
  • Not make false or misleading statements to the TPB or ATO. If necessary, we may withdraw from engagement and report certain matters to the TPB or ATO.
  • Keep accurate records to ensure compliance with taxation laws.
  • Keep you informed of relevant matters so you can make informed tax decisions.
  • Address any incorrect or misleading statements and work with you to rectify errors in tax filings.


If Bove Fails to Meet These Obligations:

Should Bove (previously Bove & Associates) fail to meet the above obligations:

  • The TPB may suspend or deregister our tax agent license, preventing us from legally practicing.
  • The TPB may issue formal cautions or require additional compliance actions, such as further education or professional supervision.
  • The Federal Court may impose fines for breaches of professional conduct.
  • Your tax and superannuation matters may be affected, leading to potential audits.
  • You may be liable for penalties and interest charges due to inaccuracies in tax filings.
  • You may have litigation options if incorrect tax decisions need to be reviewed.
  • In cases of fraud or criminal activity, legal consequences, including prosecution, may follow.


1. Information About the TPB Register

To help you verify the credentials of a tax professional, the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) maintains a public register, where you can:

  • Confirm that Bove (previously Bove & Associates) is a registered tax agent.
  • Find other registered BAS agents and tax agents.
  • Review tax professionals who have received sanctions or disciplinary actions.

2. How to Make a Complaint to the TPB

The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) welcomes feedback and complaints, which help maintain professional standards.

4. Prescribed Events Within the Last 5 Years

We confirm that Bove (previously Bove & Associates) complies with all regulatory requirements and has had no prescribed events as outlined below:
A tax practitioner must notify clients if, in the last five years, they have been:

  • Suspended or deregistered by the TPB.
  • Declared bankrupt or entered external administration.
  • Convicted of a serious tax-related offence or fraud.
  • Sentenced to six months or more of imprisonment in Australia.


This applies to both existing and prospective clients.

⚠️ Note: Tax practitioners are not required to disclose events that occurred before 1 July 2022.


5. Registration Subject to Conditions

If Bove (previously Bove & Associates) were to have conditions placed on our registration, we would inform you if our services were restricted to specific areas, such as:

  • BAS services, R&D tax incentives, or financial tax advice.
    You would be informed:
  • At the time of engagement or re-engagement.
  • Within 30 days of us becoming aware of such conditions.

There are no conditions placed on our registration.
